Module Objectives:
- Understand the dialogue and concepts in the Bhagavad Gita from a modern perspective that includes issues of mental health.
- Relate the conversations in the Bhagavad Gita to the theory and practices described in other Yogic texts.
- Apply a Tantric lens to the teachings contained in the Bhagavad Gita and learn to use this lens to examine daily conflicts and behavioural difficulties.
- Understand and describe your own internal conflicts using the perspective presented in the training, gained from examining the text contained in the Bhagavad Gita.
- Apply the concepts contained in the Bhagavad Gita to your own life, understanding how to use these to improve your relationship with yourself.
- Expand and grow spiritually due to a deeper understanding of yourself from the perspective of the inner wisdoms contained in the Bhagavad Gita.
Module Description:
Participants learn to unravel deeper layers of meaning in the Gita and to apply the eternal wisdom to their spiritual growth and development. We explore the Gita through a study of several commentaries including Swami Chidbhavananda, Easwaran and Swami Rama, and how their insights on the Gita can be applied when using yoga therapy in a contemporary healing environment, including your self-healing journey. The teachings contained in the Gita are explored with reference to several yoga practices and their application in yoga therapy, and how the use of these enhances the yoga therapist’s intuition in service of the healing process.
